S. Fennig et al., NONAFFECTIVE ACUTE REMITTING PSYCHOSIS - HISTORICAL AND NOSOLOGICAL ASPECTS, Israel journal of psychiatry and related sciences, 32(4), 1995, pp. 276-285
The present paper reviews the different approaches and evolution of th
e concept of nonaffective acute remitting psychoses (NARP) through a h
istorical perspective. Although reports and clinical descriptions of n
onaffective acute remitting psychoses were found as early as the middl
e of the 19th century there has been no consensus on their course and
clinical characteristics, and this confusion and lack of clarity is ex
pressed in the current major nosological systems. This selected review
will focus on the main approaches to the definition of this group of
psychoses and their expression in the current major nosologies.
