Abstract
(Slag + metal) equilibrium experiments have been made for the determin ation of activity of B2O3 in the {(1 - x)MgO + xB(2)O(3)} binary slag at the temperature T = 1723 K, using copper as metal solvent. The inde pendently measured activities of B2O3 reported in this study and of Mg O reported in a previous paper in the binary mixture can meet the requ irement of the Gibbs-Duhem equation.
