Abstract
Formulae for the fictitious sparking zone of an earthing rod are deriv ed on the basis of an analysis of earth connection tests carried out b y various authors and with account taken of the volt-ampere characteri stics of different soils. Safe distances between earthing rods in vari ous soils are evaluated. Results of calculations are in good agreement with experimental data.
