J. Nedelnik et al., INDUCTION OF PHENYLALANINE AMMONIA-LYASE AND PEROXIDASE IN RED-CLOVERPLANTS INOCULATED BY BEAN YELLOW MOSAIC-VIRUS AND FUSARIUM-OXYSPORUM, Rostlinna vyroba, 41(12), 1995, pp. 541-545
The aim of experiments was to detect changes in L-phenylalanine ammoni
a-lyase and ionically-bound peroxidase activities in Trifolium pratens
e varieties showing different levels of resistance to bean yellow mosa
ic virus (BYMV) and Fusarium oxysporum (FO). The results confirmed the
theory on the importance of the activation of enzyme system in condit
ion of biotic stress. The increase in PAL and peroxidases activity and
faster changes in activity by resistant variety Vulkan in comparison
with less resistant variety Kvarta were detected (Figs 2, 3). Results
of enzymes activation correlated with phytopathological evaluation of
resistance level of tested varieties (Fig. 1).
