Abstract
An improved correlated effective-field theory is introduced for the S = 1/2 pure Ising model. The theory is based on an approximate decoupli ng formula for a spin operator which is more reasonable than that in t he correlated effective-field theory (CEFT) and is applied to some lat tices for calculating the Curie temperatures. The results are superior to CEFT.
