The three-dimensional spin-1 Ising model with crystal field interactio
ns exhibits tricritical behaviour. Using an expansion technique for cl
uster identities of spin-1 localized spin systems, the influence of tr
ansverse magnetic field on this behaviour is studied. Temperature-crys
tal field phase diagrams are investigated for different values of tran
sverse field. The longitudinal and transverse magnetizations, as well
as the quadrupolar moments are calculated. General formulas applicable
to structures with arbitrary coordination number N, are given.
