Abstract
Various 6-bromo-3-amino-(N-aryl snbstituted)-2H-1-benzopyran-2-ones (4 a-1) and 6-bromo-3-phenoxy substituted-2H-1-benzopyran-2-ones (5a-m) h ave been synthesised by novel one step method which involves condensat ion of 5-bromo-salicylaldehyde (1) with Na-salt of substituted N-aryl glycine (2)-and Na-salt of substituted phenoxy acetic acid(3) respecti vely.
