Abstract
A profile of leached Be-10/Be-9 has been measured in an 80 ka sediment core from the northeast Atlantic Ocean. This profile shows a signific ant inverse correlation with the palaeomagnetic intensity profile infe rred from NRM/ARM measurements in the same core, particularly between similar to 40 and 50 ka, where a rapid decrease in field intensity is accompanied by a rapid increase in Be-10/Be-9. The extent to which thi s increase in Be-10/Be-9 at similar to 40 ka is associated with a Be-1 0 ''peak'' seen in polar ice cores at about the same time, remains spe culative.
