SCATTERING BY A PERIODIC ARRAY OF RECTANGULAR BLOCKS

Scattering properties of an incident field upon a periodic array of id entical rectangular barriers, each extending throughout the water dept h, are calculated based on a Galerkin approximation to an integral rep resentation of the problem derived using the linear theory of water wa ves. The method incorporates full multi-modal scattering using a matri x formulation and is equivalent to a corresponding two-dimensional aco ustics problem also discussed.
