Vt. Gardos et Dk. Dodd, AN IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TO ENVIRONMENTALLY DISTURBING NEWS AND THE ENVIRONMENTAL ATTITUDES OF COLLEGE-STUDENTS, Psychological reports, 77(3), 1995, pp. 1121-1122
This study examined the effect of reading a news article about a major
oil spill upon the immediately tested environmental attitudes of 65 c
ollege students. The 34 women tended to respond in a more proenvironme
ntal manner than did the 31 men. Several controls for follow-up study
are suggested.
