Abstract
A technology for obtaining instrumental corundum ceramic based on Al2O 3 + (Ti . W)C having good working characteristics and thermal stabilit y is developed. It is shown that acoustomicroscopic measurements enabl e nondestructive methods to be used to detect subsurface microdefects, enable the uniformity of the specimens to be determined and enable th e technological process by which the ceramic is obtained to be monitor ed.
