Abstract
A method is described for the serotyping of Cryptococcus neoformans ba sed on direct analysis of culture supernatants for the major type-spec ific capsular antigen, glucuronoxylomannan. Factor sera prepared by ab sorption of polyclonal rabbit antisera (Iatron Laboratories, Inc., Tok yo, Japan) or selected anti-C. neoformans monoclonal antibodies were u sed in a dot enzyme assay to detect the presence of antigen.
