Abstract
Iterated function systems (IFSs) consist of a set of contraction mappi ngs, and can be used as a means of producing shapes and fractals. The finding of an IFS which represents an arbitrary shape is often referre d to as the inverse problem. This paper presents some results achieved when using evolutionary programming as a means of finding solutions t o several problems.
