Abstract
We consider a general nonlinear dynamical system undergoing a supercri tical Hopf bifurcation, and driven by a Gaussian colored noise. Using normal form theory and an approximate effective Fokker-Planck equation , valid for weak intensity and small correlation time of the noise, we obtain an explicit expression for the stationary probability distribu tion of the full general system close to the bifurcation, and analyze the changes in the shape of the distribution to discuss the effect of the noise on the bifurcation interval.
