This paper is concerned with visual and magnetooptical studies of the
reversal of staggered magnetization of the noncentroantisymmetric orth
orhombic antiferromagnet (AFM) DyFeO3. The energy inequivalence of tim
e inversed AFM states was crested in a tilted field H = (H-x, H-y, H-z
) due to quadratic magnetization. The diagram of AFM states of the cry
stal studied in a tilted field is constructed and the coercive energy
of the AFM domain walls is found E(c) approximate to 1,1 . 10(2) erg/c
m(3) (T = = 21 K. Due to low coercivity of the AFM domain wails revers
al of magnetization AFM(+) double left right arrow AFM(-) in DyFeO3 is
appreciably affected by the elastic streses present in the crystal wh
ich induce the piezomagnetic moment. The elastic stresses in the cryst
al under study were estimated to be 50-100 kg/cm(2).
