Abstract
The Dinteloord sugar factory, belonging to Cooperatie Sulker Unie, com missioned Linatex Nederland to build a treatment plant for its entire flume and wash water stream, which has now started operations. Initial results are promising. In the first two weeks of the campaign. organi c material amounting to 1.22% on beet was recovered with about 13% dry substance content. A fuller account of the advantages and savings ach ieved by employing the Linatex process will become available once the campaign has ended. This may show that the investment, originally made for environmental reasons, can actually generate a profit.
