We have synthesised a series of polyquinoxalines and model oligomers.
This paper concentrates on optical and electrical properties of the fi
ve-ring dihydrotetra-azapentacene. When it is doped via electron and/o
r proton transfer, a variety of charged species are formed. Cyclic vol
tammetry reveals three oxidation states, discussed here in relation to
conductivity data using HCl gas doping, optical absorption spectra, a
nd preliminary ESR work.
