Abstract
93 fungi have been isolated from soil samples from the south of the gr eat Kerguelen island and small islands located in the Golfe du Morbiha n. As it was already observed for land animals and plants, the mycoflo ra is relatively poor. However, ubiquitous strains have been found, am ong which Mucor hiemalis and some Penicillium. Geomyces pannorum, a ty pical strain from cold areas, was one of the most commonly isolated st rain. One species of Verrucobotrys, one Chaetomium, one Mortierella an d one Zygorrhynchus are supposed to be original and will be the object of more careful studies.
