N. Ferrer et al., QUANTIFICATION OF DODECYLBENZENESULFONATE AND TRIPOLYPHOSPHATES IN SOLID COMMERCIAL SAMPLES OF DETERGENTS, Vibrational spectroscopy, 10(2), 1996, pp. 229-237
Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy has been used for the quantita
tive determination of dodecylbenzenesulfonate and tripolyphosphate in
solid commercial samples of detergents. The only sample treatment cons
isted of a separation with ethanol. Dodecylbenzenesulfonate was dissol
ved and tripolyphosphate remained in the insoluble fraction. The metho
d consisted of transmission measurements of KBr pellets. Precision, re
covery and determination using both calibration line and standard addi
tion have been optimized. The determination of dodecylbenzenesulfonate
has been compared with the UV method.
