Abstract
An asymptotic expression for wave resistance is obtained for large val ues of Froude number F (in high speed limit). It behaves like F-2 in m ost of cases. However, additional logarithmic factor appears for the w ave on the surface of the fluid, for the waves on the interface of two fluids and for internal waves in infinite domain of stratified fluid with constant Brunt-Vaisala frequency. When a body is deeply submerged the asymptote for the wave resistance appears to be exponential.
