Disturbances generated by a source in multilayer ideal incompressible
flow are investigated. Velocity and density distributions in each laye
r are arbitrary except for the case of the low layer with infinite dep
th which is supposed to have constant velocity and density. The flow f
ield is expressed with the help of Green function of auxiliary spectra
l problem for the ordinary differential equation with two complex para
meters. In the case of finite depth flow properties of discrete spectr
um of this problem allow to present the wave and nonwave disturbances
through infinite series of simple integrals. In the case of infinite f
low depth a continuous spectrum exists. For small stratification param
eter the disturbance of the flow field in this case is expressed as in
finite series of simple integrals for the ware part of disturbance and
through double integrals for nonwave part. An example of two constant
density layers with one being of infinite depth is considered.
