Ert. Tiekink et al., A TURBIDITY STUDY OF THE RATE OF DISSOLUTION OF ZINC-MONOGLYCEROLATE IN AQUEOUS-SOLUTION, Spectroscopy letters, 29(8), 1996, pp. 1545-1554
The turbidity of suspensions of polymeric zinc monoglycerolate (ZMG) h
as been used to determine dissolution rates in aqueous solution. The r
ate was found to be first order with respect to the concentration of u
ndissolved ZMG and of order 1/2 with respect to the hydrogen ion conce
ntration in the pH range 4.1 - 5.8 and a temperature range of 20 degre
es C - 45 degrees C. The temperature dependence at constant pH obeys t
he Arrhenius equation and the activation energy of the dissolution pro
cess was found to be near 35 kJ mol(-1).
