Abstract
A particular solution for thermocline with ideal continuously stratifi ed fluid is proposed. With appropriate choice of function specifying t he relation between potential vorticity, density and Bernoulli functio n this solution describes three-dimensional thermocline and current st ructures in subtropical and subpolar gyres qualitatively correct.
