REFLECTION OF PACKETS OF INTERNAL WAVES F ROM RIGID PLANE SURFACE

Reflection of monochromatic internal wave packets from a rigid plane s urface is considered for the case of non-Boussinesq fluid. As compared to Boussinesq approximation new effects exist which are most essentia l for glancing angles of incidence. If the incident packet approaches the reflecting plane from above then in addition to usual reflected pa cket the packet is formed transferring energy in reverse (to incident) direction. In opposite case this packet transfers energy in the same direction leading to distortion of shape of incident packet.
