M. Djuric et al., DEFORMATION STRESS-ANALYSIS ON CERAMIC POWDERS WITH VARIABLE PARTICLE-SIZE RANGE, Canadian ceramics quarterly, 64(4), 1995, pp. 235-240
Three series of powder compacts were made using particle sizes: (0.063
- 0.09) mm and (0.4 - 0.5) mm; (0.09 - 0.2) mm and (0.4 - 0.5) mm; an
d (0.063 - 0.09) mm and (0.09 - 0.2) mm. Compaction response curves we
re obtained and mathematical models were derived using Heckel's equati
on. From the parameters of the models, deformation stresses were calcu
lated and then used to analyse the compressibility of such compacts. C
onclusions are drawn concerning the compaction characteristics.
