The study is a comparative analysis of historical documents and oral f
amily histories collected by the first of authors in (and about) the S
outhern Slovakia village, inhabited with both Magyars and Slovaks. Its
aim is to reconstruct the history of their living together, which has
started due the Agreement on inhabitans Exchange signed by Hungary an
d Czechloslovakia in 1946, and to trace up the reciprocal impacts betw
een the memory and the maintained representation of good mutual relati
onship. Focus is also on reasons of preserving habitual communication
in Hungarian language between Slovaks and Magyars.
