MANIFESTATIONS OF INTOLERANCE AND VIOLENC E AGAINST WOMEN IN THE SLOVAK-REPUBLIC

The paper presents the findings of the sociological survey on intolera nce and violence against women. Its impetus was the preparation of int ernational seminar On Intolerance and Violence against Women held in B ratislava (1994). Its aim was to collect the prebiminaly data on the s ituation in the Slovak Republic with the help of the experts' evaluati on method. The main conclusions concern such problems as the increase in violence against women, differences in violence manifestation accor ding to the size of settlement. The collected data suggest main charac teristics of forms of violence including so called hidden violence.
