Abstract
Computer finite-element methods form the basis of a new technique for representing the structural complexity of an arch bridge, as a basis f or assessing bridge condition. Masonry arch finite-element assessment (MAFEA), physical testing and assessment of structures, and bridge cos t and damage assessment systems, are described in detail.
