PHYSICAL-PROPERTIES OF LATE QUATERNARY SE DIMENTS WITHIN KARA SHELF AND CONDITIONS OF THEIR FORMATION

The main physical properties of sediments connected with natural condi tions were investigated. Large variety of physical characteristics and their role is determined by several natural factors: climatological, neotectonical and palaeogeographical. Their area's distribution in tim e is controlled by morphostructural features and specific conditions o f suspended matter inputs. These processes have good correlation with sediments types, their genesis and facial environment. Our results may be used as a base for regional profiles which reflect the petrophysic al features of litogenese at high latitude shelves.
