Nn. Dunaev et al., PHYSICAL-PROPERTIES OF LATE QUATERNARY SE DIMENTS WITHIN KARA SHELF AND CONDITIONS OF THEIR FORMATION, Okeanologia, 35(6), 1995, pp. 916-923
The main physical properties of sediments connected with natural condi
tions were investigated. Large variety of physical characteristics and
their role is determined by several natural factors: climatological,
neotectonical and palaeogeographical. Their area's distribution in tim
e is controlled by morphostructural features and specific conditions o
f suspended matter inputs. These processes have good correlation with
sediments types, their genesis and facial environment. Our results may
be used as a base for regional profiles which reflect the petrophysic
al features of litogenese at high latitude shelves.
