Abstract
Photosynthetic reaction centres from Rhodobacter sphaeroides have been reconstituted in phospholipid vesicles, reverse micelles and organoge ls. The kinetics of charge recombination between the primary photo-oxi dised electron donor (P+) of the reaction centre and the primary (Q(A) (-)) and secondary (Q(B)(-)) quinone accepters have been investigated in each system. The dependence of the kinetic parameters on the quinon e concentration in reverse micelles and organogels has been studied. T o account for the observed multiphasic kinetics, the influence of syst em microstructure and of quinone concentration is considered.
