Abstract
Absolute cross sections for photoionization of metastable Xe (5p(5) 6 s' P-3(0)) atoms are presented over the wavelength range 462-430 nm (p hotoelectron energy epsilon = 0-200 meV), including the 7p'[3/2](1) an d 7p'[1/2](1) autoionization resonances. In addition the angular distr ibution of the photoelectrons is reported across the 7p' resonances (e psilon = 90-180 meV). The experimental data are compared with Hartree- Fock calculations of the photoionization process.
