Abstract
Pacemaker pulse potentials in standard ECG leads were analyzed by a di gital ECG analyzer (PM-20M, Biotronik) in 226 patients with monopolar ventricular stimulation. During the first days after operation in 189 patients with uncomplicated postoperative course the value of relative pulse potential was 251+/-43 mV. This value was decreased down to 231 +/-33 mV by the end of the first month (p<0.05) and remained on this l evel during a period up to 7 years. In cases of electrode microdiscloc ation (12 patients and endocardial electrode dislocation (10 patients) the relative pulse potential value increased and reached 295+/-73 mV and 296+/-53 mV, respectively. In cases with high stimulation threshol ds considerable decrease of relative pulse potential (from 260+/-73 mV to 60+/-41 mV) was noted. In 5 patients hormone therapy resulted in r apid reversion of the relative pulse potential to the initial value.
