In shell model calculations for the yrast even-spin states of Cr-50, t
he static quadrupole moments of the low-spin states 2(1)(+), 4(1)(+),
6(1)(+), and 8(1)(+) are negative but those of the high-spin states 10
(1)(+), 12(1)(+), and 14(1)(+) are positive. Yrast states with even sp
ins greater than the single j shell limit, J(max)=14, again have negat
ive quadrupole moments.
