Abstract
The crystal structure of a binuclear copper(II) complex, -1:2kappa2O)b is(nitrilomethylidyne)]di-phenolato(3 -)-1kappa2N,O:2kappa2N',O'-dicop per(II), [Cu2-(L-sal)(HCOO)], H-3(L-sal) = N,N'-bis(salicylidene)-1,3- diamino-2-propanol, was determined by X-ray diffraction. The title com pound is ferromagnetic as a result of the roof-shaped structure of the Cu2O(OCO) core (-2J= -94 cm-1). The Cu...Cu distance is 3.260 (1) ang strom and the Cu-O-Cu bond angle is 115.2 (2)-degrees.
