The two species described from South of France (Aulacidea freesei, sp.
n. and Phanacis zwolferi, sp. n.) are gall inducers in stems of Silyb
um maria-num and represent the first known Aylacini species associated
with this plant. Aulacidea laurae Nieves-Aldrey, previously recorded
only from Spain, is reported from France and its gall, formed in achen
es of Scorzonera laciniata (Asteraceae), is described for the first ti
me. Aulacidea macula Forsius, 1921, closely allied but not conspecific
with Aulacidea laurae, is synonymized with Aulacidea abdominalis (Tho
mson, 1877).
