F. Fernandez et al., THE NUCLEON-NUCLEON INTERACTION IN TERMS OF QUARK DEGREES OF FREEDOM, Journal of physics. G, Nuclear and particle physics, 19(12), 1993, pp. 2013-2026
A modified quark-quark interaction is applied to study the nucleon-nuc
leon interaction. The quark potential is suggested by instanton models
and includes pion (pi) and sigma (sigma) exchanges as non-perturbativ
e components and the one-gluon exchange as a perturbative one. The nuc
leon-nucleon potential derived from this model presents short-range re
pulsion and medium-range attraction besides the usual pion tail. Using
this interaction the nucleon-nucleon phase shifts within the resonati
ng group method have been calculated. They agree reasonably well with
experimental values.
