Abstract
The vegetation in landscape has an extraordinary significance because the vegetation is most important natural resource. A map of real veget ation and its interpretation is the fundamental analytical basis about vegetation. The maps of real vegetation have their application in the process of ecological planning in following ways: 1. as elementary an alytical bases for the creation of landscape ecological complexes (geo systems), 2. for the interpretation of the state of biota, production and function qualities of vegetation and qualities of the stand, 3. as a basis for fixing the limits for social activities, 4. as a basis fo r special partial proposals. The vegetational map has been many times in Slovakia compensated by a map of the secondary landscape structure. This map on the scale 1:50 000 (and smaller) is suitable, for greater scales is unsuitable. Without a field research it is impossible to do differentiation of the territory and produce good quality bases for t he needs of landscape ecology.
