The contribution very shortly reviews some of the landmarks of the env
ironmental movement since 1960s to the present day, used to support th
e conviction that we live in a crisis which is not limited to the oute
r environment, but is a manifestation of our inner illness. It attempt
s to search for the roots of this crisis. The scientific responsibilit
y for the loss of the holistic picture of the world is reflected. Howe
ver, the crisis can be perceived, not only as a plague, but also as an
opportunity to a new awakening, a re-evaluation, a turning-point poss
ibility. If we want to cross turning point, we should know, that a new
world can be created only by truly ethical norms, which will stand in
the centre of everything what we do. Only then we have a chance to sa
ve both the Earth and ourselves.
