R. Nandy et al., BIOCONVERSION OF QUININONE TO QUINIDINE BY IMMOBILIZED CELLS OF HANSENULA-ANOMALA VAR SCHNEGGII, Research and Industry, 40(3), 1995, pp. 179-181
Bioconversion of quininone to quinidine was carried out by immobilized
cells (using agar as gel matrix) of Hansenula anomala var. schneggii.
Agar entrapped cell beads showed 72.9 per cent of the activity of fre
e cells when used in presence of CTAB (0.01 per cent) on 3rd day of in
cubation under the following conditions; pH of the solution 2.5, tempe
rature 28 degrees C, age of the culture 24h, cell concentration 1.0 g
(wet weight)/10 mi solution containing 0.05 per cent quninone, 0.55 pe
r cent KH2PO4 and 0.5 per cent glucose.
