D. Atanackovic et al., OBJECT-ORIENTED TOOL FOR SUBSTATION DESIGN, International journal of engineering intelligent systems for electrical engineering and communications, 3(4), 1995, pp. 233-247
This paper presents a prototype of a tool (OOSD) which models and pres
erves the wide body of substation design expertise. In essence, OOSD c
onverts basic design specifications such as type of substation, power
rating, voltage-levels, and other network data into one or more detail
ed substation designs consisting of the single-line diagram, the gener
al-electrical specifications and detailed analysis reports (which incl
ude studies on insulation coordination, short-circuits,-reliability an
d cost). The tool is developed using object-oriented programming in C+ because of its many advantages, notably-knowledge encapsulation, pol
ymorphism and code reusability. A powerful GUI allows easy access to a
ll design facilities.
