Cr. Savage et al., RECALL AND RECOGNITION MEMORY IN OBSESSIVE-COMPULSIVE DISORDER, The Journal of neuropsychiatry and clinical neurosciences, 8(1), 1996, pp. 99-103
This study examined recall and recognition memory in 20 nonmedicated p
atients with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) ann 20 matched contro
l subjects. As hypothesized, OCD subjects showed abnormalities affecti
ng delayed recall of nonverbal information but showed normal recogniti
on. These results are interpreted as providing preliminary evidence of
a nonverbal memory retrieval deficit consistent with proposed cortico
striatal system dysfunction in OCD.
