Abstract
In this paper, the microstructure, wear and corrosion resistance of la ser-alloyed M(80)S(20) alloy layers with or without CeO2 were studied by means of scanning electron microscopy observation, electron probe m icroanalysis, energy-dispersive analysis of X-rays, microhardness test ing, wear testing and corrosion testing. The results show that the add ition of CeO2 can significantly improve the microstructure, wear and c orrosion resistance of laser-alloyed layers.
