Abstract
A patient is described with a unilateral pleural effusion persistently infected with Salmonella enteritidis. The infection was eventually er adicated with ciprofloxacin. A computed tomographic scan and mediastin al lymph node biopsy demonstrated an underlying small cell bronchogeni c carcinoma.
