Abstract
The application of the Gadd severity index in the case of a fatal fall of a child is reported. Two important factors affecting the calculati ons involve the deceleration upon impact and the weighting factor appl ied to various injury scenarios. The Gadd severity index could be a us eful tool in forensic medicine, but care is needed in its implementati on.
