Abstract
This paper covers the mast important design aspects of strip line reso nators essential for their applications as sensors for material measur ements in industrial processes. A stripline resonator sensor is a sect ion of a stripline transmission line. The paper discusses e.g. the qua lity factor, the sensitivity and the resonant frequency of the sensor. The article also deals with the use of sensor arrays for fast mapping of the material properties. The effect of the measurement environment is also discussed. Stripline resonator sensors have been developed fo r measurement of the properties of sheetlike materials or material lay ers.
