E. Furimsky et M. Biagini, POTENTIAL FOR PREPARATION OF HOT GAS CLEANUP SORBENTS FROM SPENT HYDROPROCESSING CATALYSTS, Fuel processing technology, 46(1), 1996, pp. 17-24
Three spent-decoked hydroprocessing catalysts and two corresponding fr
esh catalysts were tested as hot gas clean-up sorbents and compared wi
th the zinc ferrite using a simulated coal gasification gas mixture. T
he catalysts deposited only by coke exhibited relatively good cleaning
efficiency. The catalyst deposited by coke and metals such as vanadiu
m and nickel was less efficient. The useful life of the spent hydropro
cessing catalysts may be extended if utilized as hot gas clean-up sorb
ents.
