Abstract
Three spent-decoked hydroprocessing catalysts and two corresponding fr esh catalysts were tested as hot gas clean-up sorbents and compared wi th the zinc ferrite using a simulated coal gasification gas mixture. T he catalysts deposited only by coke exhibited relatively good cleaning efficiency. The catalyst deposited by coke and metals such as vanadiu m and nickel was less efficient. The useful life of the spent hydropro cessing catalysts may be extended if utilized as hot gas clean-up sorb ents.
