The spontaneous magnetostrictive effects of amorphous eutectic FeDy ar
e detected within the range of temperature 270 to 370-degrees-C; the t
echniques used are: magnetization, elongation, and DSC. The influence
of the quenching rate is also considered; we note a threshold below wh
ich the spontaneous magnetostriction does not exist. Furthermore, a co
rrelation between the magnetostrictive elongation and the magnetizatio
n is proposed.
