Abstract
A rapid and easy method for the separation and dosing the beta-hydroxy ethylmethyl-terephthalate and bis(beta-hydroxyethyl-terephthalate) obt ained as dimethyl terephthalate transesterification with ethylene glyc ol reaction products is presented. The abovementioned compounds were s eparated by gas-liquid chromatography polar compounds separation, with out turning these products into low polarity derivatives. The method c an be applied in dimethyl-terephthalate transesterification kinetics w ith ethylene glycol.
