2-TRICHLOROMETHYLBENZIMIDAZOLE, A NEW DYEING REAGENT FOR THIN-LAYER CHROMATOGRAPHY - CHROMOGENIC REACTIONS WITH 5-MEMBERED HETEROAROMATIC-COMPOUNDS WITH CONDENSED BENZENE-RING

The chromogenic reactions of 2-trichloromethylbenzimidazole (TCMB) wit h azines a nd azoles as well as their application for the visualizatio n of this compounds or o-phenylenediamine derivatives on thin-layer ch romatographic (TLC) plates with excellent detection level are reviewed . The investigations are extended to reactions of TCMB with some other five-membered heterocyclic compounds. The application of TCMB to visu alization of some nitrogen containing five-membered heteroaromatic com pounds with the condensed benzene ring on TLC plates are described.
