Abstract
The purpose of this paper was to descibe the electrophoretic variants of genetic markers in red cells of the Balkan bloat. The biochemical v ariation of five genetic markers: hemoglobin (Hb), nucleoside phosphor ylase (NP), X-protein (X), malic enzyme (ME) and carbonic anhydrase (C A) was analyzed by starch gel electrophoresis. The characteristic gene frequencies of the investigated Hb, NP, X and ME protein systems were established as: Hb(A) and Hb(B) (0.909 and 0.091); NPH and NPL (0.400 and 0.600); X(+) and X(-) (0.600 and 0.400); ME(F) and ME(S) (0.554 a nd 0.446) respectively. Carbonic anhydrase did not show polymorphism. The frequencies of these loci have been calculated for the native Balk an goal and compared with those for some goat studied by other authors .
